Prizes and Awards

The Dutch Society for Matrix Biology (NVMB) recognises research excellence, clear scientific communication and active participation in our community through three prizes.

Together, these prizes celebrate the discovery, communication and discussion of knowledge, encouraging the next generation of matrix biology researchers.

Bertus Kemp Prize

The Pauline van Wachem Award recognises the best oral presentation at the NVMB Annual Meeting, celebrating the ability to communicate research clearly and engage the matrix biology community.

The Arnold van den Hooff Award recognises the participant who makes the most valuable contribution to scientific discussions at the NVMB Annual Meeting. It highlights the importance of thoughtful questions, critical thinking and constructive exchange in advancing research.

The Bertus Kemp Prize recognises the best doctoral thesis in matrix biology defended during the preceding year. The NVMB administers this prize as custodian of funds from the Stichting Bevordering Bindweefselonderzoek (Foundation for the Promotion of Connective Tissue Research)..
